Dr. Jovan Alavanja

Dr. Alavanja grew up in northwest Indiana and graduated from Lake Central High School. He completed his undergraduated studies in Neurobiology/Physiology at Purdue University-Lafayette (Boiler Up!), and earned his Doctorate of Optometry at the Indiana University School of Optometry.

Dr. Jovan Alavanja is passionate about advancing the treatment of dry eye disease and leading the way in ocular aesthetics. Known for his progressive approach and commitment to patient outcomes, he integrates the latest technology and evidence-based care to deliver meaningful, long-term relief for his patients.

In 2020, Dr. Alavanja became the first provider in Northwest Indiana to introduce Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy for dry eye—setting a new standard for care in the region. His dedication to innovation continues to position his practice at the forefront of modern eye care.

Dr. Tamara Latinovic-Ajder

Dr. Tamara Latinovic-Ajder is a dedicated optometrist who earned her Doctorate of Optometry from Midwestern University in Illinois in 2022. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology with a minor in Psychology from Indiana University Bloomington.

Dr. Tamara Latinovic’s focus is myopia control, specializing in slowing the progression of nearsightedness in children through advanced, evidence-based treatment strategies. She is passionate about protecting long-term eye health by intervening early and customizing care for each patient’s unique needs.

Dr. Latinovic offers a full spectrum of modern myopia management solutions, including MiSight® 1 day soft contact lenses, Stellest® myopia control glasses lenses, orthokeratology (Ortho-K), and low-dose atropine therapy. By combining these proven treatments with precise diagnostics and ongoing monitoring, she creates personalized plans designed to effectively slow myopia progression and improve visual outcomes.

Her proactive approach helps reduce the risk of serious eye conditions later in life, including retinal detachment, glaucoma, and myopic macular degeneration. She works closely with parents to educate, guide, and empower them—making the process clear, comfortable, and results-driven.

Amanda

Amanda joined the Crown Point Eye Care team in 2020, and she brings years of medical care experience to the office. As our ocular hygienist, she will lead you through your dry eye evaluations and treatments. She is highly proficient in dry eye treatments such as: Lumenis IPL, Zest procedures, and scleral lenses. Amanda is a long time resident of Crown Point and enjoys spending time with her family, especially with the kids at the baseball fields!

Taylor

Taylor joined the Crown Point Eye Care team in 2020. She is our lead Frame Stylist and Frame Buyer. She is responsible for all the beautiful frames and frame lines at Crown Point Eye Care! She is proficient in maximizing vision patient insurance benefits, contact lenses, and diagnostic imaging. Taylor is a long time resident of Northwest Indiana and enjoys spending time with family and friends
